Fashion Trends for the New Year!

New Year New You New Fashions!  Here are some of our faves coming in hot this New Year 2013!
(Psssst…Watch for us on the Morning Blend Friday January 4th at 9am where we will be featuring these fashion trends along with Kirby from Kontempos Salon talks about beauty trends to look for!)

Black is back! Everyone is excited to see their favorite color being fully embraced.   Head to toe black means opportunity for lots of layers. When you have a solid pallet you can afford to add texture and embellishments. To create a little black magic of your own utilize fabrics. We love to see leather, lace, knit, and fur all in one look. Don’t worry about slight variations in color, when you layer texture you create depth.  But if the thought of mixing textures makes you uncomfortable you can always keep it simple and pop the look with electric accessories. A poppy colored hand bag and bright lip stick is a fabulous way to wear all black into the spring.

Resort Chic.  This year we are keeping things a little edgy and leaving the boho floral dresses at home.  Bright colors rule in the sun. We look for things that are both easy to wear and playful. Accessories are a big deal when planing a trip! It’s easy to pack lite with sunglasses, sandals and the perfect jewelry that take your dress from day to night.  I confidently suggest leaving your heels in the city.  A funky sandal, especially one with a platform will keep you from sinking in the sand and be plenty stylish for your pool side cocktails.

Water-Colored.   Want to earn some Double Take cred!  Think 60′s mod in confetti colors. Do monochromatic or mix it up!  This trend is ready to put a smile on your face no matter how you make it your own.

Because pastels can get really soft and feminine and we tend to like to keep an “opposites attract” attitudes towards this trend. Expect to see us wearing clean lines and simple accessories. Even lean a little masculine and skip any lace or flowers ~ were not decorating a baby shower.
