What a stellar day shooting, this weather is unbelievable! We could not have asked for a more beautiful day with FIVE different shooting locations! This spring editorial is about mixing tailored silhouettes with a modern element. This season is highlighting clean lines, bright/neon colors, as well as sheer/sheen pieces. The irony of classic beauty floating around in these grungy or messy situations & settings adds a warm juxtaposition to the theme. Our fabulously sweet model, Miss Nicole, only broke her ’50′s house wife glam’ mode once during shooting when a man walking by mistook her for the ‘Wendy’s’ girl! Mary and Buddy transformed Nicole with a breezy, loose, pinned back low hair style, bronze cheeks, bold brows, the classic thick eye liner swoop on the top and a matte pink lip stain – which turned to hot red for dinner time and blood-red for our last shoot at the Laundromat! Our photographer, Amy Lynn, was amazing, creating and capturing the fierceness always an essential accessory for high fashion! Side note: A few days after we wrapped the shoot I was flipping through the new April Harper’s Bazaar Magazine when I came across their spring editorial, ‘Flirty 50′s’ (image below). Even though Harper’s followed a bit more of an Italian twist while we stuck to the pure bread American way – we think we were pretty right on with what’s smokin’ right now! You say meatball, we say hamburger and fries!
